I am LOVING summertimeee!

My 21st birthday was last Tuesday! I seriously thought this day would never come. Being the baby of my grade that I am, I was happy it was finally here. That night a few of my close friends went to The Bin and sat there for hours just hanging out and listening to music. I love that place in the summer. It is absolute perfection. Since by best friend Leah's birthday was June 1st, we decided to wait until the weekend to celebrate together and with everyone else. A group of us went to eat Mexican before and then we headed out on the town. It was all around a fun night and I am so thankful that I got to celebrate with my favorite people! Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday and a big big thanks to my family. My mom and stepdad got me a new "21" Pandora charm for my bracelet and a beautiful antique diamond ring. Hank also gave me a Michael Kors watch that I am obsessed with. I love my little brothers note he wrote in my card he gave me. He is a nut. It was a happy day!

The following day after my birthday, my baby cousin Jake turned ONE! I can't believe it has been a whole whopping year since his birth. I love him to pieces and am so thankful God put him into our family. He is the cutest thing I have ever seen, and he just learned how to walk last week! I love to show him off and he is about 50% of my Instagrams! :) Happy Birthday Jakey! I love you!

And to wrap it all up, my trip to the beach with Hank's family was fun as always. I had to come later so they flew me down there so I didn't have to drive. How SWEET of them! We laid out everyday and Hank and I squeezed in some time to go to Moe's and grab a smoothie from Smoothie King (his favorite). We also went out to eat at The Melting Pot while down there. I think the closest one to us up north is in Memphis so it was a treat to go there. I love that place! I was so sad to leave and have to come back and start summer school.

God is good!

I am thrilled to share that I got the internship that I applied for this summer!

About a month ago, an advertising internship opportunity came my way. It was with the Student Media Group which is based in Newark, Delaware. I applied for it, participated in a 3 round interview process, and got a call yesterday that I had been chosen for the position. Even though the offices are in Delaware, they give the opportunity to students in college towns all aross the US. What I will be doing all summer long is going around to Starkville businesses and try and get them to place ads in the Plan-It Planner that you can buy in places like Barnes and Noble, The Lodge, etc. I will also be helping them create the ideal ad that best suites them. This is not how I was planning to spend my summer, however, this opportunity came my way and I am thrilled to have this experience! I will be traveling to Clemson University to start training in about a week, and then I come back to Starkville and start working. As a PR major, it is very important to partake in internships and have a little experience before hitting the "real world" with full force. So yep, I'm excited about this internship and about living in Starkville this summer!

In other news, today is my best friend Kathryn Cox's BIRTHDAY! She is the big 2-1 and I can't wait to go to Starkville Thursday (tomorrow) and celebrate with her and all of my other friends. It's been a long time coming for us with late summer birthdays, and it is LESS than a month until mine :) Even though I feel like such a baby and I feel like I am so behind everyone, the majority of my friends' birthdays are right along mine so that is sort of a relief!

Happy happy birthday sweet Kathryn! I love you!

And have a good rest of the week to you allllllllllll!

FINALS ARE OVER! Maybe now that I am out for the summer, I will hopefully blog more. I love to blog, but it was so hard to find time to do it when you are living with 7 other girls and 190284792 down the hall.

Speaking of, along with being done with school, I have officially moved out of the Delta G house. It was a bittersweet thing. I LOVED living in the house Fall semester. Loved it. However, Spring semester wasn't quite the same. By the time Spring Break came along... it was crazy. I just wanted my own space and quietness. So that is what I mean by bittersweet. I will always be thankful that I did have that experience because in the end, it was a great one. I have a lot of memories from my sweet roomies! I can't wait to have an apartment next year with Alyson and Leah. Anddd our friends Katherine, Kathryn, and Kelsey will be right next door (almost).

As for my summer plans, I will probably be taking summer school in June. If I don't get my summer internship, that is. Let's all cross our fingers on this one :/

Let's have a catch up, shall we?

So since my last post, things have gotten a little crazy around here. Since the semester was coming to an end, I tried to go to every last social function we had. We had our last formal of the semester, and Mathletes vs. Athletes swap. Of course, I chose to be an Athlete because it was the easiest (is that bad?) so I borrowed Hank's soccer jersey. Semi-formal was an absolute BLAST! It was, hands down, the best formal yet. I wish they were all as much fun as this past one. It was also the seniors last one. I am so sad that they all will be leaving :( it just doesn't seem right! And to go along with that statement..... We are SENIORS. Crazy crazy crazy... I don't know if I'm ready for all that.

So I will leave ya'll with some pictures. Have a great week :)

Roommates next year!

I promise I haven't forgotten!
The past few weeks have been......busy to say the least. It seems like this time of year is so hectic. I'm so glad it is almost the end of the semester because I want (need) a break so badly from school. Juuust to throw this out there... this has been the worst semester I have had yet. Let's just leave it at that. :)
So let's see...
Two weekends ago was Sigma Chi Derby Days! It is probably my favorite springtime event at MSU. I practiced my booty off for the lip-sync and had a blast with everyone. We came in 3rd place overall, and we were all happy with it! DG won 1st place in basketball, which comes to no surprise because our girls are ballerssssss (no pun intended). Hank and his good friend from high school, Sykes, coached our team. Let's just say they took it serious and even had a play book. JA basketball all the way. Saturday my mom and Meg came to watch the dancing part and it was great to get to see them. Up next: All Sig Day... Whoo-hoo!!!

Now on to Easter. One of my favorite weekends. I love coming home to my family, buying Easter dresses, the decorations, and seeing my grandparents and other family. Not to mention the weather this weekend was faaaabulous!

I love my Luke!

But most importantly, Jesus is the reason we celebrate Easter.
He has risen! Just as he said.
Update: My mom and Earl got a new bike. They love it, and I am still trying to figure out how I feel about it. They rode it around the neighborhood last night and people were stopping them for pictures and hooting and hollering. They love to try new things.........

That's it for now.

Have a great week!

Sorry I've been MIA for so long! It's been a busy couple of weeks (especially leading up to Spring Break).
Speaking of, Spring Break was so much fun! A group of us (Alyson, Kathryn, Katherine, Casey, Kelsey, Virginia, Hanna, Cecelia, Daltria, Courtney, and of course the "papa" of the house Davis and I) went to Destin for a whole week. This trip was more of a relaxing one than Freshman year (to say the least) and it was much needed by the time I was done with midterms. The weather was so pretty every day except for Monday, which is good because you never know what it will be like down there. We went to the beach every chance we could and of course ate out every night. I loveddd eating so much seafood!!! I love seafood. We would usually just hang out at our house with people or occasionally go to Baytowne. So to sum it alllll up, It was a trip for the books. We had such a great time!

So far this week has been hard getting back into the swing of things and back to reality (duh), but we are so close to being done with Spring semester! Whoo-hoo!

Have a great week!

What a weekend!

Like I told yall in the previous post, we went to New Orleans for Sweetheart formal. Oh my gosh, it was a blast! We roomed with Karlie Fennell and one of Hank's good friends James Morgan. They were such fun roommates! :) We left Friday around lunch and headed South. After we got settled into our hotel room we hit Bourbon. We were starved (to say the very least) and decided we did not have a preference on where we ate, so we went into this little seafood restaurant to satisfy our hungry stomachs. It ended up being a good little meal. Then we met up with more of our friends and had a great time out and about. It was honestly the latest I have stayed up since maybeeee Freshman year. Oops? Saturday we slept in and then Hank and I decided to go walk around the French Quarter for a little while until we had to go get ready for the formal. Our dinner reservations were at Palace Cafe at 6:30 so we didn't get to venture around for long, but we did stop and get some delicious coffee on our way back. Anyway, our dinner was just plain amazing and I ate almost every bite on my plate (and some of Hank's.......).
Sooo to sum the whole trip up = wonderful. I can't wait for the next time! It was so hard leaving and having to get back into the swing of school. FYI: I slept hard last night. I was exhausted!!!

This upcoming weekend is Kappa Sig Charity Bowl and so Friday I will be out supporting the DG cheerleaders! I can't wait to see what they have been working so hard on.

(Nice demon eyes MS ;))

Good afternoon everyone!
Today is one of the prettiest days I have seen in Starkville in a lonnnnggg time. It is absolutely wonderful and just plain beautiful. I love sunny warm days... they make my mood so much better! Yesterday we had wonderful weather as well so me and my roommate Alyson went on a 3 mile walk. I love taking walks because I feel so much better afterwards. We might take another one today.... we'll see.
This weekend is Sigma Chi Sweetheart in New Orleans and I am about to pack my bags so that we can leave around lunch tomorrow. I am so excited, and Hank is excited to celebrate his 21st birthday, considering he had a test to study for after the basketball game on Tuesday. I am sure we are going to have so much fun. I also can't wait to add a little shopping into the schedule as well :)

Have a great weekend!!!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the greatest guy I know. Today is Hank's birthday!
Not only is today his birthday, but today is also Mardi Gras AND the MSU vs. Kentucky game. He is sure going to have a fun-filled day. His parents are coming in to town and we are going out to eat and then head to the game. This weekend is Sweetheart and we will be celebrating in New Orleans! He is so excited to finally be turning 21! I hope you enjoy your day, Hank!

I can make it through this week...

I can make it through this week...

I can make it through this week...

Just giving myself a little pep talk. I am already ready for the weekend. :/

Saturday, February 18, 2012

I am so glad it's the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you tell?) I feel like this week has gone by super slow and it's so good to be home. I had two tests this week, one was in Spanish, and it was absolutely horrible. Me and Kelsey had a study party that lasted until a good 5 am. That's totally normal.

Tuesday was Valentine's Day and Hank and I went to eat at Harvey's. We went at 5:30 (along with my roommate Kathryn and her bf ha!) to try and beat the crowd, but there was still a 20 minute wait. It's funny because we tried to make reservations but NO ONE in Starkville was taking them.
Oh, and a little sidenote: Starkville realllyyy needs to get more restaurants. Then afterwards we went to see The Vow along with every other couple in Starkville, MS. Hank was not all that excited about it, and I didn't blame him, but I really liked the movie. A lot of my friends say they hated the ending, but I actually thought it was good! I would recommend it.

Andddd guess what. Hank's 21st birthday is Tuesday! Whoo hoooo! He is really excited about it and has been talking about it alllll week. I also don't blame him for that either because I would be just as excited considering I don't turn 21 until........... JUNE. It's fine you guys, really, it's fine.

On to other (old) news that I feel like talking about on the blog because 1.) I LOVE REAL HOUSEWIVES MORE THAN ANYTHING 2.) I'm from Tupelo and I feel like it is kind of a big deal just because it's a small town. But did ya'll know that Vicki from Real Housewives of Orange County is dating a guy from Tupelo?? Who knew right? So I was watching tonight and they announced it on the show. Call me crazy because I know you all are thinking it right now :) but that's just super weirddddd.

Well I'm headed to bed! I can't wait to sleep late in the morning...it is going to be wonderfulllll.

Have a good weekend!

February 14!

Today is one of my favorite holidays whether I have a valentine or not. Today is such a happy day! I encourage everyone to look past the boyfriend/girlfriend part and just ENJOY it! (Oh, and I seriously have painted my nails red just for Valentine's)

Tonight I will be going out to dinner and then going to see The Vow. Cheesy? Well, maybe, but I have been wanting to see it for so long I don't even care at this point. :)

grump ha!

Is it embarrassing that all I asked for for V-Day was the new Twilight movie that came out Friday? Umm....oops. Can't help it.........

xoxo my loves! enjoy your day.

You all have a lovely (no pun intended) Valentine's on Tuesday.

xoxo!

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Hey everyone!

So tonight is "what used to be cool" swap AND Hanna Roberts' 21st birthday!!! Whoo hoo!!! We're going to La Ta to eat before and then swapping it up afterwards. Happy Birthday to you my friend! Oh, and can I just add that the roommates are going as Hanson? Yeahhh you heard right.

This past weekend I went home to Tupelo for the first time since Christmas break. Let me tell you, it was much needed and I loved every second of it. I am huge family person and not seeing them since then, well, is kind of a big deal in my world. Ha! Plus, I got to see this cute little guy... I love him so much!

Aaaand...This weekend I am planning on going to Oxford with a few friends and I'm sure we will end up having quite a good time! :)

You all have a good weekend as well and see you back here soon!

Friday, January 27, 2012

Hello everyone! I am currently in my pajamas (still) and am catching up on my daily blog-reading.
Thought: I love how I read certain blogs religiously, but they have no idea who in the heck I am. I know it's not creepy to most people, but when I think about it, I feel like a creep-o.

Anyway, tonight is DG's Roaring 20's Date Party. Who is excited? THIS GIRL.
I love the chance to get all dolled up in a flapper dress...
(I'm trying to talk Hank into slicking his hair back. This should be interesting.)

And also, I'll introduce you to some of my recent WANTS:

Clearly I am dying for pastel pants for Spring

This. Cuff.

Have a good weekend!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I just got done catching up on The Bachelor, and I'm sitting here thinking about this teeeeny tiny space of a room I live in. IF you should even call it a room...more like... a cubicle. But, you know, I love it. I wouldn't trade one thing about my experience here in the DG house. Skeptical about the idea of living here I may have been, but my roommates (best friends) are absolutely incredible. I know that this is so random of me, but it is something on my mind that I would like to share...

Here are some pictures of all of us:

Love yaaaa'll to pieces!
